ASCD is a global community dedicated to excellence in learning, teaching, and leading. ASCD’s innovative solutions promote the success of each child.

Has twitter, facebook, google+ and linkedin accounts.

The basic option membership is $59 dollars and says it provides the foundational resources educators need such as being well informed of best practices, classroom teaching and school leadership. There is an option for a $29 dollars student membership, which offers similar services. They both come with a subscription to two different educational magazines.

It costs $429 dollars to attend and lodging is an extra $210 a night for the hotel it is at.

The Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children

The Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children is committed
to improving the education and welfare of children from birth through age eight. MiAEYC works for young children, their families, and early childhood professionals.
MiAEYC supports the professional development of its members through quality training, materials and services. About 3,000 early childhood educators and suppliers of children's services belong to MiAEYC in 16 affiliate chapters and 3 local chapters.

Regular and student members receive 20% discount on prices in the NAEYC catalog of hundreds of books, videos, brochures, and posters. Five electronic issues of award–winning Young Children, packed with the latest developments in early childhood education, practice, and research. The print publication package of your choice: Five issues of Young Children or five issues of Teaching Young Children. Reduced fees for MiAEYC institutes and annual conferences. Reduced registration fees at NAEYC sponsored conferences and seminars. A vote in all AEYC elections. Insurance and credit card options. It is $66 dollars for non-students and $55 for students.

The next conference is Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Royal Dearborn Hotel and Convention Center (Formerly Adoba Hotel) in Dearborn Michigan. It says more information will be available early September but there is still no information on pricing available.

I was personally surprised that the local Michigan organization was more expensive then the national organization.
